Adam Fogle is a 28-year-old dude who is like a lot of other 28-year-old dudes. He has a good job, owns his own house, drives his own car and likes to party in the streets.
But Adam has a disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy, or SMA.
SMA sucks. It is a stupid, incurable, genetic disease that goes to war with the motor neurons of the spinal cord and brain stem and napalms them into severe atrophy, eventually causing way too many funerals. In fact, SMA kills more babies than any other genetic disease.
Adam was diagnosed with SMA at age 2. He is holding strong now, but the life expectancy of a person with his type of SMA is somewhat reduced. Not cool!
Fortunately, there’s a great organization called FightSMA that is working hard to end SMA. FightSMA is a nonprofit at the forefront of SMA research and advocacy. And a tax-deductible contribution of ANY SIZE will greatly assist in the advancement of much-needed medical research for this devastating neuromuscular disease (*hint* *hint*).
